Our end-of-semester concert is coming up next Wednesday, May 6th, at 7:00 PM! We’ll be performing at the Cal State University East Bay Recital Hall (MB1055).
Admission is completely free, so come on by!
We’ve been rehearsing hard for over four months and have eight amazing pieces lined up for you. Here’s a sneak peek at what we’re playing:
Bach’s Toccata and Fugue:
You’ll definitely recognize the opening—it’s been used in countless horror movies! We’re playing the orchestral version from Disney’s 1940 classic *Fantasia*. It’s a totally different experience hearing it live with a full orchestra.
Eleanor Rigby by The Beatles:
Originally written for a string quartet, we’ve scaled it up for our full orchestra. It’s going to be way more intense and powerful than the original!
Bohemian Rhapsody by Queen:
One of the most iconic songs in music history. Even though we can’t see Freddie Mercury at his piano anymore, we’re bringing his masterpiece back to life through our performance.
Por Una Cabeza:
A beautiful Argentinian tango that is both passionate and heartbreaking. It’s the kind of song you’ll want to hear over and over again.
Every single piece on the program is fantastic, and we can’t wait to share what we’ve been working on. It’s going to be a great night of music, and we’d love to see you there!

這次我們一共排練了八首曲目.
巴哈的管風琴作品 Toccata and Fugue, 開場的幾節是很多恐怖電影的配樂,相信大家都聽過. 我們這次演奏的是狄斯奈公司1940年的電影Fantasia中改編成管弦樂的版本. 相信大家聽完後,一定會有全新不同的感受.
披頭四的Paul McCartney 代表作之一, Eleanor Rigby, 本來是由弦樂四重奏來伴奏, 現在由我們超過五十人的管弦樂團來表現. 一定比當年的披頭四更瘋狂更震撼.
Queen樂團主唱 Freddie Mercury在1975年寫的Bohemian Rhapsody, 是流行音樂史上最具代表性的作品之一. 雖然Freddie已經離我們而去, 再也看不見他坐在鋼琴前自彈自唱, 但是大家還是可以透過我們的演奏重新感受一下這首歌的魅力.
既熱情又悲傷的阿根廷探戈風格的 Por Una Cabeza. 值得一聽再聽
還有其他的曲目, 每一首都好聽的不得了. 這是我們排練了四個多月的成果. 千萬不能錯過.
